Ron has extensive experience administering and observing electoral events both locally and globally. He serves as Lead Electoral Officer for various society and First Nations elections in British Columbia and Alberta. He has run a number of court ordered elections for large and small societies (up to 30,000 voters). Furthermore, Ron often serves internationally as Deputy Head of Mission or Election Analyst for International Election Observation projects. He most recently returned from the presidential elections in Romania, but over the past 20 years has completed projects in over 30 countries, such as Afghanistan and Ukraine, as well as Austria and the United States of America. His considerable experience, including having tackled elections from each of the three major perspectives (campaign, administration and observation) provide a vast knowledge base from which to run an election and help serve local communities now and into the future.
Ron holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of Victoria and an MSc. in International Relations from the University of Edinburgh where he completed his thesis entitled “Warlords at the Gate: Armed Groups and Power in the 2005 Afghan Elections”.
