BCAFN is hosting the Women Chiefs and Leaders Caucus Meeting (hybrid) on March 24-25, 2026, in the traditional, ancestral, and unceded territory of the syilx/Okanagan people, also known as Kelowna, BC. All First Nations Chiefs and Leaders who identify as female are welcome to attend. This caucus will hold space for First Nations Women Chiefs and Leaders to discuss their experiences as leaders, and priorities within their communities.
BCAFN Representatives will provide an update on BCAFN’s advocacy and co-chairs will hold collaborative dialogue on presentations/updates from various levels of government, and interactive plenary sessions with purpose to integrate the voices, experiences, and leadership of First Nations Women Chiefs and Leaders into resource development processes to ensure that safety, equity, and rights are upheld — especially in the context of implementing the Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women, Girls and 2SLGBTQQIA+ (MMIWG2S+) National Action Plan.
