At the invitation of the BC First Nations Leadership Council, the independent Expert Panel leading the legislative review of the federal Cannabis Act will be held on Tuesday, March 28, 2023, for an engagement session with First Nations in BC.

On September 22, 2022, the federal Minister of Health and the Minister of Mental Health and Addictions launched a review of the Cannabis Act. Amongst other key areas, the review will focus on the impact of cannabis on First Nation people and communities. Additional information about the launch of the Legislative Review was previously shared by Health Canada with BC First Nations at various stages since the September 22 launch and can be found here.
