Maggie Mills is a first-generation Danish settler living on the ancestral, traditional and unceded territory of the Xʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam), Sḵwx̱wú7mesh(Squamish) and səl̓ilwətaɬ (Tsleil-Waututh) Nations. She has been working with First Nations in the realm of economic development and environmental policy for the past decade. While Maggie has attended both undergraduate and graduate studies in these fields, her most valuable experience comes from working and living in a remote First Nations community in the Sub-Arctic Northwest Territories. The intersection of environment, community, economy and wellbeing ground Maggie’s research, ensuring that community priorities rise to the top and that results are actionable. Maggie is thrilled to be working on the rural and remote economic development file for BCAFN and cannot wait to share results with communities across the province.
