The BC Assembly of First Nations (BCAFN) is hosting the 2025 Women, Girls, and 2SLGBTQQIA+ Dialogue Session, entitled: Healing in Action on June 25-26, 2025 in Lheidli T’enneh Territory / Prince George, BC (in person / partial-hybrid). All First Nations Chiefs, leadership, and community members are welcome to attend and advance action around equity and justice for First Nations women and 2SLGBTQQIA+ people. BCAFN’s elected representatives will provide updates and roundtable workshops will hold collaborative space for participants to contribute to a number of ongoing initiatives.

Keynote addresses will explore the intersecting challenges faced by First Nations women and 2SLGBTQQIA+ individuals within the context of colonialism. This keynote will delve into the unique struggles rooted in historical oppression, cultural erasure, and systemic marginalization. Highlighting stories of resilience, reclamation, and self-empowerment, the speaker will share personal experiences and community-driven solutions that challenge colonial structures. The session will emphasize the importance of embracing identity, honoring ancestral knowledge, and advocating for justice, healing, and visibility in the ongoing journey toward liberation. Through this lens, the keynotes will inspire and equip attendees to confront barriers, amplify voices, and forge pathways toward collective empowerment and cultural resurgence.
